Stimulated emission from a perylene vapor under laser pumping in a wide region of the spectrum
Abstract
Lasing has been achieved in a perylene vapor with pentane in the presence of laser pumping in the 420, 350, and 248 nm absorption bands. The duration of the laser pulses under hard quantum excitation was close to a pump pulse duration of 7 nsec. The spectroscopic and lasing characteristics of the perylene vapor are described on the basis of the experimental results. Emphasis is given to the possibility of implementing laser action in the presence of wideband pumping.
