Some problems involving wave diffraction by the open end of a truncated waveguide
Abstract
The problem involving the diffraction of a plane electromagnetic wave incident at an arbitrary angle on a truncated waveguide (TW) is considered along with a problem involving emission from a TW. Cases of E- and H-polarization are examined; and a Fredholm equation of the second kind is obtained by a combination of the Wiener-Hopf-Fock method and the partial inversion method. An analysis of this equation for small and large projections (compared with the wavelength and the waveguide width) made it possible to obtain the asymptotics of the main characteristics of the scattered field both inside and outside the waveguide.
