Oscillating Maxwellians
Abstract
Explicit homogeneous and inhomogeneous solutions are obtained for the ddimensional nonlinear Boltzmann equations. Maxwell particles and time dependent external forces proportional either to the velocity or to the space variables are assumed. Examples of distributions which relax towards oscillating Maxwellians and others which relax toward absolute Maxwellians are found.
