An estimation method for rain attenuation distribution in microwave multirelay links - Compound lognormal distribution model
Abstract
An estimation method for the rain intensity distribution based on the compound long-normal distribution model is described. Rain intensity distribution parameters are estimated for 80 locations in Japan. The application of the method to determine the simulataneous probability of rain attenuation in multirelay links is discussed, and the rain attenuation distribution is estimated for such links at quasi-millimeter wavelengths. The method is found to be much more accurate than the conventional gamma distribution model.
