Interion interaction and stimulated emission of concentrated crystals of praseodymium, neodymium, erbium, and holmium compounds
Abstract
The linear and nonlinear (with respect to excitation intensity) energy transport processes responsible for intensity redistribution in the spectra of concentrated crystals of praseodymium, neodymium, erbium, and holmium compounds are examined. In particular, attention is given to the effect of these processes on the stimulated emission characteristics of these crystals. Experimentally determined lasing characteristics of concentrated crystals of Nd, Pr, Er, and Ho are presented, and possible applications of microlasers based on these crystals are briefly discussed.
