Methods for the automatic photometry of photographs of complex structures
Abstract
The paper examines the use of automatic microphotometry at Pulkovo to study photographs and spectrograms of solar fine structure. The system consists of an automated scanning microphotometer in conjunction with a computer with row scanning of two-dimensional objects and analog transparency conversion into values proportional to relative brightness. The characteristics of the system are examined in detail, and results obtained are presented.
