Intelsat earth-station standards - A new look to an old theme
Abstract
Intelsat provides documentation concerning the performance characteristics of earth stations in the Intelsat network. The performance characteristics, called 'standards', are provided to ensure compatibility of equipment with respect to antenna, RF, modulation, and access characteristics. The Intelsat standards were updated in 1984 by adopting a modular approach to their construction. The reasons for the change are described, and a complete list of the new documents in the modular format is given.
