Some results concerning approximation of regularized compressible flow
Abstract
The nonlinear full potential equation for compressible aerodynamics is examined, centering on the conditions of the ratio of specific heats (gamma) for the gas. Error estimates for the finite element approximation to the regularized problem are given. Furthermore, a numerical experiment with gamma = -2 was carried out, yielding optimal rates of convergence in the H1 norm for calculations with triangular and quadratic elements.
