Geostationary orbit inclination strategy
Abstract
The optimization of a strategy for inclination station-keeping maneuvers in geostationary orbits, which must consider all future maneuvers, in addition to the natural pole drift, is discussed. It is shown that by transforming the equation for pole drift, it is possible to obtain a simple geometrical solution of the optimization problem. Applications of the method, such as in the inclination station-keeping program, INCLON, are considered.
