Electromagnetic wave diffraction by a grating of partially shielded dielectric bars of circular cross section
Abstract
A rigorous solution is obtained for the problem concerning the diffraction of a plane H-polarized electromagnetic wave by a grating consisting of partially shielded dielectric bars of circular cross section. By using the method of semiinversion, the problem is reduced to that of solving a system of linear algebraic equations of the second kind which makes it possible to determine the field amplitudes with any specified accuracy. It is shown that in the long-wave region, resonance reflection of the incident waves occurs even in the case of a wide-spaced grating. It is also shown that resonances shift in the direction of longer waves as the dielectric constant of the bars increases.
