Electromagnetic wave diffraction by a grating of partially shielded dielectric bars of circular cross section
Abstract
A rigorous solution is obtained for the problem concerning the diffraction of a plane Hpolarized electromagnetic wave by a grating consisting of partially shielded dielectric bars of circular cross section. By using the method of semiinversion, the problem is reduced to that of solving a system of linear algebraic equations of the second kind which makes it possible to determine the field amplitudes with any specified accuracy. It is shown that in the longwave region, resonance reflection of the incident waves occurs even in the case of a widespaced grating. It is also shown that resonances shift in the direction of longer waves as the dielectric constant of the bars increases.
