Space-experiment simulation with the aim of investigating the global pattern of the polar oval
Abstract
A satellite method and hardware design are considered for an experimeent aimed at determining the global pattern of the polar oval in its illuminated and unilluminated parts. The time of image acquisition is reduced by utilizing satellite spin and an electronic CCD scanning technique. The proposed approach was used to simulate an experiment involving the optimal launch of a satellite in order to measure the shape and dimensions of the polar oval as well as discrete structures within the oval.
