An analysis of drop size distribution data to obtain the 'best' fit to standard distributions and distribution parameters
Abstract
A method is described which enables one to find from an experimentally determined number or mass drop size distribution the 'best' fit to standard distribution functions such as Rosin-Rammler, log-normal, root-normal, Nukiyama-Tanasawa, upper limit, as well as various means and parameters of these distributions, together with their variances. An example analysis of the drop size distribution of a spray is presented.
