Integration of channel coding and modulation. II - Demodulation and error probability
Abstract
The error probability of communication systems using integrated modulation and channel coding is presented. Two demodulation algorithms for these systems are described, one of which permits optimum performance to be achieved but is very complex, while the second is less complex and is somewhat less accurate. When the parameters for the latter algorithm are well chosen, the increase in error is not too high. The utilization of these algorithms provides significant advantages in the computation of the minimum Euclidian distance.
