Initiation of detonation by a plane shock wave. I
Abstract
Shock-initiated detonation in packed explosives is characterized in a review of recent theoretical and experimental investigations. Chapters are devoted to the general phenomenology of shock-initiated detonation, sensitivity testing, analysis of the transition zone, and explosive decomposition. The role of microscopic processes in the different phases of initiation and in the development of pressure waves is stressed, and graphs and diagrams are provided.
