SIMSAR study, section 1
Abstract
Investigations into the numerical simulation of a SAR system are presented. Software for calculating the rough radar signal (RRS) via the frequency-domain, was derived. The RRS was calculated in a 1024 point-objects area (with mutual 10 wavelengths distance) in flight direction. Existing software was extended with the implementation of a SAR-processor, consisting of a matched filter from which the transfer-function is anew to be determined for each distance. Part of the Doppler-spectrum was selected by filtering. Speckle was reduced counting subspectra signals on power base. Transfer functions were determined using Gauss functions in the frequency and time-domain. The power density spectrum (PDS) of the theoretical model was compared with the PDS of the simulated data and the real SAR-data.
