Digital elevation model computation using fast Poisson solutions
Abstract
Fast Poisson solutions of the five point difference approximation to Poisson's equation on a rectangular structure are presented. It is shown that these methods can be applied to digital elevation model computation given that demands on regularity are filled. Using domain decomposition the demands can be eased and allow for progressive sampling methods. The possibility to further generalize these methods is discussed.
