Energy characteristics of radiation for a system consisting of a dielectric waveguide and a grating
Abstract
The energy dependences of guided radiation for a system consisting of a dielectric waveguide and a comb-type diffraction grating are considered with reference to the development of devices in the millimeter and centimeter ranges. The dependence of radiation power on the electrodynamic coupling (EC) between the grating and the waveguide is shown. Two system parameters are found to have a considerable effect on the EC: (1) the distance between the waveguide and the grating; and (2) the depth of grating elements. Energy characteristics are examined for an EC that is inhomogeneous over the interaction region.
