First Argentine scientific satellite - SAC I
Abstract
Plans for SAC I, an Argentine scientific satellite to be launched at the next solar maximum to an orbit with altitude 500 km, period 95 min, and inclination 97 deg to study high-energy-particle interactions in the solar atmosphere, are summarized. The history and organization of the project are traced; the scientific goals and instrumentation are characterized; and the proposed spacecraft configurations is illustrated with drawings. Lists of equipment parameters are provided, and the project status (at the end of the definition and feasibility studies) is discussed.
