The CCIR-recommended satellite EPIRB system operating through geostationary satellites at 1.6 GHz
Abstract
The concept of the planned EPIRB system operating through geostationary satellites at 1.6 GHz is described. The superposition principle being applied in the system is discussed, the equipment is summarized, and the coordinated trials program is described. The transmission characteristics of the recommended system is considered, presenting block diagrams. Another version of EPIRBs with built-in position determination is addressed.
