Propagation of charged particles in the solar corona
Abstract
Prognoz-7 and Venera-11 data are used to investigate the effect of boundaries of unipolar magnetic regions (UMRs) on the propagation of charged-particle fluxes in the solar corona. It is shown that the mean velocity of particle transport from the source to the injection point increases significantly if the particles intersect the UMR boundary during coronal propagation. Attention is given to cases when the effect of UMR boundaries on the transport of flare particles consists in a significant delay of proton fluxes with respect to electron fluxes, and in an-increase in the relative fraction of electron fluxes in the total charged-particle flux in the corona.
