A stochastic theory of irreversible processes in multicomponent gas systems
Abstract
The theoretical-probabilistic approach of Tolubinskii (1969) is extended to the kinetic description of irreversible processes in multicomponent mixtures of chemically active polyatomic gases. The principal kinetic equations for the probability distributions of macroscopic variables and the corresponding stochastic equations of transport are obtained, as are functional evolution equations for generating functionals. Asymptotic methods for solving these equations and their relation to the known transport equations are examined.
