Study of the turbulent field inside the blade to blade channel of a radial compressor
Abstract
In previous papers, a spectral study of the action of Coriolis forces on a homogeneous turbulence was made. The main equations and results of the study are summarized here. The validity of this preceding study was limited by the fact that nonlinear and inhomogeneous effects were not taken into account. In the present paper, an equation for the effective strain, recently proposed by Maxey (1982) is used to extend the model to more complex nonlinear and nonhomogeneous flows. A comparison with experiments is made in the case of a rotating boundary layer.
