Solar energy conversion based on the principle of fluorescent collectors. Installation of a test collector to deliver several Watts power
Abstract
A model of a 1sq m fluorescent collector for solar energy conversion was developed and tested. Investigations of the long-term stability show that service life can exceed 5 yr. The electrical efficiency factor of 1% can be improved by altering the concentration of the dye. It remains almost constant at low irradiation levels. The high transmission of the collector allows its use in semi-transparent systems like greenhouses.
