Calculation of separated flows by viscous-inviscid interaction
Abstract
A viscous-inviscid interaction calculation procedure for incompressible separated flows in outlined. The procedure provides an attractive alternative to the numerical solution of the full Navier-Stokes equations for those flows in which distinct viscous and inviscid regions can be identified. It is believed that considerably less computational time is required for the interaction procedure than for Navier-Stokes solutions when the same level of grid refinement is used in viscous regions.
