Prediction of earth station intermodulation products in Telesat's thin route network
Abstract
When degraded performance occurs on a thin route circuit, intermodulation noise, caused by an overdriven earth station power amplifier, may be the cause. A computer program has been developed at Telesat Canada to predict the possible earth stations responsible for all third order (A+B-C and 2A-B) intermodulation products which fall on Thin Route circuit frequency slots. The background, calculation method, computer program itself, and the way it is used as a maintenance tool, are described.
