Performance analysis of MSK and offset QPSK signals transmitted through bandlimiting nonlinear channel
Abstract
This paper considers the performance evaluation of MSK and Offset QPSK (OQPSK) signals which have been transmitted through a nonlinear satellite channel after bandlimiting in uplink. The transponder nonlinearity considered here is of the bandpass type which exhibits AM/AM and AM/PM conversion effects. The effects of the additive Gaussian noise in both uplink and downlink are also taken into consideration in the analysis. An expression for the probability of bit error is derived and the numerical results are presented for MSK and OQPSK systems which employ a hard limiter and a Chebyshev filter.
