The equilibrium thermodynamics of a multicomponent plasma
Abstract
A method for the thermodynamic calculation of multicomponent systems with chemical and phase transformations is proposed which makes direct use of the maximum entropy principle. The method makes it possible to calculate the thermodynamic possibility of the formation of condensed phases without examining individual phases. The method and the algorithm proposed here have been implemented in software including a data base which contains thermodynamic and thermochemical properties of individual materials.
