Study of the limits of computerized laser chronophotography, applied to velocity field measurement in laminar or turbulent air or water flow
Abstract
A velocity field measurement system and data processing is described. A video camera with an image memory of 512x512x8 bit with silicon target with diodes array is used. An Icotech image processing system and a Sirius 1 microcomputer with PASCAL language was adopted. A YAG laser works automatically under computer control. The programs are described. The data acquisition and processing time to obtain a velocity field chart is reduced to 20 min. The spatial resolution is less than with the photographic method.
