Calculation of roots of transcendental equations in problems of determining thermal conductivity of cylinder with non-uniform boundary conditions
Abstract
A procedure was developed for solving transcendental equations containing Bessel functions. Formulae were obtained for determining the roots of the characteristic equation with using tables for Bessel functions. These formulae can be used to calculate the temperature fields during heating of cylinders in parallel-current flow and countercurrent flow with non-uniform boundary conditions.
