Deterministic and random phase noise of oscillators
Abstract
Quality requirements concerning the spectral purity of oscillators in synthetic aperture radar are estimated. Sinusoidal interference terms were generated in a Taylor series and square and cubic phase error influence were investigated. Square phase errors give rise to a spreading of the mains lobes of the azimuth shape, while cubic phase errors induce a displacement of the main lobe and an accentuation of the side lobe levels.
