A public key cryptographic algorithm based on a generalization of the knapsack problem
Abstract
A double key cryptographic algorithm is presented. The algorithm allows signal encoding with multivalued alphabets, while the classical knapsack method codes binary messages only. Cryptographic robustness is shown by an example where the random decodification of a message using a 32 symbol alphabet would take 10,000 yr.
