Doppler-based target localization by a distributed system of omnidirectional sensors
Abstract
A multistatic SONAR system is presented. An omnidirectional transmitter and at least four omnidirectional receivers are used. Only Doppler measurements of the receiver are used for localization and speed estimation, assuming that the measuring accuracy is equal for all receivers. The resulting localization accuracy is better only for very long signals compared to theoretically estimated delay times.
