Synthesis of MIG-type electron guns for gyrotrons
Abstract
A synthesis method is used in the design of axially symmetrical guns in the moderate to high space charge regime. Self-consistent equations for the temperature limited emission case are used to represent the beam and solve the internal problem, under the requirement of laminar flow. The external problem is solved by integrating the equations with boundary conditions defined by the analytically extended solutions of the internal problem. This technique is used in the development of a gyrotron.
