Measurements of high resolution spectra on the Omega laser at Rochester University
Abstract
A very high resolution grazing incidence spectrograph and vacuum chamber were attached to the Omega laser facility. The 3 m (88(0)) grazing incidence grating spectrograph can be used with either of two Bausch and Lomb gold replica gratings. One of the gratings has 1200 lines mm(-1) blazed at 2(0) 35', and although its wavelength coverage extends to 385 A, the spectrograph is most efficient between 8 A and 130 A. The spectral resolution near 100 A obtained with this configuration is better than 0.03 A. The second grating has 600 lines mm(-1) blazed at 6(0) 2'.
