Report by the Chairman of the Fluid Dynamics Panel
Abstract
Problems related to fluid dynamics and flow visualization in the aerospace industry are discussed. It is anticipated that computers and wind tunnels will remain tools in aeronautical design, and the accuracy of their performance predictions depends on: (1) progress in numerical analysis; (2) programs in turbulence modeling; (3) accuracy of wind tunnel measurements; (4) knowledge of flow details; (5) computer power.
