Hologram bleaching
Abstract
The physical and chemical foundations underlying the processes involved in bleaching developed images are examined. The results of an investigation of hologram bleaching processes in order to increase their diffrction efficiency, to insure spectral nonselectivity and to prevent bleached holograms from darkening when exposed to light are described. Bleaching of amplitude holograms processed in D-19 developer transforms them to phase holograms and increases their diffraction efficiency; it does not increase the diffraction efficiency of phase holograms developed with holographic developers. The bleached image is spectrally non-selective.
