Coupled magnetostatic waves in layered film structures
Abstract
Theoretical and experimental dispersion curves were obtained for the propagation of coupled surface magnetostatic waves in a two-layer YIG structure with metallic screens in the short-wave region. The experiment, performed in the 10-20 GHz frequency range, corroborated the theoretical results: two passbands with the excitation of forward and backward waves were observed. In addition, the frequency dependence of the coupling coefficient was found to be transformed from a monotonic one to a curve with a maximum whose location and magnitude were determined by the size of the dielectric gap.
