Method for optimizing the geometry of reflector antennas
Abstract
Principles underlying the use of mathematical programming methods to optimize the geometry of reflectors of special form are elaborated. The optimization involves the minimization of the goal function expressing the deviation of the reflector pattern from a specified one. The necessity of minimizing the resulting secondary-diffraction field is shown. The applicability of the current method for calculating the radiation field of an optimized reflector is indicated, and experimental results are presented.
