Formation of radio signals with a low sidelobe level
Abstract
A theoretical study is made of the influence of the quantization of the durations and time shifts of partial radio signals on the accuracy of the reproduction of pulsed-radio-signal spectra. Recommendations are made on the optimal selection of the number of quantization levels for achieving the desired sidelobe level in a given frequency range. The digital pulse-width-modulation method is shown to be superior to the conventional AM techniques in that this method makes it possible to achieve the desired sidelobe values.
