Mutual synchronization of a chain of resistively coupled autooscillators
Abstract
The method of slowly varying amplitudes is used to analyze the mutual synchronization of single-stage autooscillators, resistively coupled at the fundamental tone. Possible steady-state regimes and their stability are investigated, and the control of the phase distribution is considered. Experimental results are presented for a system of three mutually coupled Gunn-diode oscillators; it is shown that the directivity pattern can be controlled by a symmetric detuning of the natural frequencies of the oscillators.
