System for the coherent conversion of signals of the centimeter-range NIRFI astrometric VLBI
Abstract
Principles underlying the design of a system for the coherent frequency conversion of centimeter-range signals of the NIRFI astrometric VLBI are presented. One of the features of the proposed system is signal formation of the first microwave local oscillator based on the frequency multiplication of the 5-MHz output signal of a rubidium standard. The conversion of signals received from the radio source is carried out in the passband of 50 MHz, providing multichannel synthesis of the correlation function in the same effective frequency band. Results of experimental validation are presented.
