Dispersion characteristics of dielectric waveguides on substrates
Abstract
Screened dielectric waveguides (DWs) on dielectric substrates are analyzed by the method of partial regions with allowance for the behavior of the electromagnetic field near the dielectric edges. The possibility of the approximate description of waveguide-substrate-air interface characteristic is assessed, and the dispersion characteristics of comb-type, insulated, and coupled mirror DWs are presented. The results are compared with calculations made by approximate methods.
