The Chebyshev synthesis of O-type traveling-wave tubes with helical slow-wave systems
Abstract
The problem considered in this paper is that of selecting the parameters of a multisector O-type traveling-wave tube in such a way as to minimize, in the sense of Chebyshev, the nonuniformity of the frequency response. The slow-wave system is modeled by means of an equivalent length, and the gain factor of the traveling-wave tube is calculated using the relationships of the linear theory. Results of the synthesis procedure are presented for specific versions of the slow-wave system.
