Spectral structure of pulsed radiation
Abstract
A numerical analysis of the statistical characteristics of the spectral structure of pulsed superluminosity with a homogeneously broadened spectral line is carried out for a high-pressure nitrogen laser. The components of the spectral structure are considered as overshoots of a random process describing the spectrum, these overshoots exceeding specified levels. The investigation is made for five different levels. Attention is given to cases of polarized and nonpolarized radiation for three different pulse shapes with allowance for the transformation of statistical characteristics in a nonlinearly amplifying medium.
