A heat problem for a submerged jet
Abstract
The study is concerned with a general solution to the convective heat conduction problem with bulk heat release due to the viscous dissipation of the kinetic energy of a fluid whose velocity field is determined from an exact solution to Navier-Stokes equations for a submerged jet. The possible formulations of the heat problem and the characteristic behavior of the solutions are examined. The solutions obtained are characterized by the existence, under certain conditions, of two regimes of convective heat transfer.
