Control and regulation of generalized linear systems
Abstract
The concern here will be control and regulation of generalized linear systems (GLS) or, more precisely, systems over a ring. These include time delay systems (neutral and retarded), 2D signal processing systems, discretized partial differential equations and parameterized systems. All of these systems may be modelled in the frequency domain as rational functions in two or more indeterminates. The notion of a system over a ring is detailed. The particular emphasis of this research was coefficient assignment. The basic problem is that of solving polynomial equations in two (or more) independent indeterminates. The two basic polynomial equations to be solved in order to do coefficient assignment are presented.
