Calculation of flow stability in a circular tube with injection
Abstract
Linear theory is used to investigate the stability against small two-dimensional perturbations of the hydrodynamically developed flow of an incompressible fluid in a circular tube with injection through a porous side surface. An analysis is made of the neutral curves and of the dependence of critical values of the stability parameters on injection intensity. The results are compared with experimental data, and it is shown that, in the limiting case of strong injection, the stability-loss mechanism has an inviscid character.
