Acoustic inspection of components of radio-electronic equipment
Abstract
The use of acoustic techniques (e.g., ultrasonic, acoustic-emission, and holographic) for the inspection of radio-electronic equipment (REE) is discussed. Particular attention is given to: the acoustic-noise inspection of the electromechanical components of REE; the inspection of REE casings and hermetic packages; the acoustic-emission inspection of the structural components of antenna systems and REE; the design of a microprocessor-based acoustic-inspection system; and support for and control of acoustic-inspection systems.
