Prediction of transonic turbulent boundary layers
Abstract
A differential equation is supplied to those adopted by a local equilibrium method - Nash-McDonald method to take account of the influence of the upstream flow history on the velocity profile. Some calculations were made for incompressible and transonic (subcritical and supercritical) turbulent boundary layers under various pressure gradients. The calculated results are in a good agreement with the experiment data. The accuracy is equivalent to Green's lag-entrainment method, but the present method is much simpler and the computing time less.
