Direct G/T measurement for satellite broadcasting receivers
Abstract
A new method of G/T measurement for directly braodcasting satellite receivers is proposed. The method permits a determination of G/T without measuring G and T separately, by combining measurements from both the antenna and the converter. Because bandwidth difference and time response difference in the measuring equipment generally affect the accuracy of G/T measurements, the proposed direct method is found to achieve a higher degree of accuracy. The results of several experiments with the method are reported and a block diagram of the measurement system is provided.
